Bill Evans freshman Drake defense was called to.

This 18-year-old eager, a standout in all 11 Drake games to date, was temporarily classified Al prior to the examination. He is not enlisted in any reserve program-" of the: armed forces. Even if he is classified 1A there is a likelihood that Evans will be able to finish all, or a majority, of of the Bulldogs' six remaining games.
This latest threat to the personnel of the Drake five came on the eve of the Tulsa invasion of the Bulldog fieldhouse Friday night for a Missouri Valley conference game. Last weekend the improving Tulsans, sparked by Bobby and Glenn Dobbs, yielded to Oklahoma. A. & M., 28 to 24.
Following the Tulsa skirmish, the Bulldogs move against once-beaten Creighton at Omaha, Neb., Monday.-----,
Only Lyle Naylor, sophomore guard, has a clear military status now. He is enlisted in the navy air corps, which has been undisturbed by navy officials to date.
Of the other three regulars, Center Gerry Dirksen Isn't in any reserve, Forward Warren Scott may be called into the army air corps between Feb. 20 and 28, and Forward Gene Oil- I rich is open for call into the j army reserve.
Coach Bill Williams, who was I called away by the death of his father earlier this week, returned Wednesday to work with the cage kids. Attack was featured in the drill.
