Service Lines Lock in Furious Mixup
Sunday's game at Ottumwa between the U. S. Naval Air station team of that city and the Iowa Pre-Flight "B" eleven was a battle of powerful lines, as this picture demonstrates. Here Albert Oberlies, air station halfback, is spilled by William Olson, Beahawk center, as the linemen smash themselves into a pileup. On ground at right (No. 30, white jersey) is Francis Lynch, Ottumwa quarterback.-OFFICIAL U. S. NAVY PHOTO.

Ottumwa Navy Repeats Over Beahawks, 13-0
(The Register's Iowa News Service.)
OTTUMWA, IA.-A 67-yard sprint by William (Mott) lyiottram, and a steady grinding touchdown assault in the {ourth quarter gave the U. S. Naval Air station of Ottumwa a 13 to 0 grid victory, their second of the season^ ver the Iowa Pre-Flight "B" team, here Sunday.
A crowd of over 6,000, an all-
me record for Scheafer field, law the Beahawks outplay the kyers by a considerable margin the first half.
Only a fumble on the one-yard stripe, recovered by Lieut, (j.g) F. L. Covin, prevented a Beahawk touchdown. It was fumbles, dropped passes, and penalties which, time after time, blasted the hopes of the visitors for touchdowns.
One of these fumbles came in the third quarter on an attempted lateral pass by the Beahawks, and resulted in the first touchdown. The Skyer line charged in and roughed up the play. The ball squirted upward and Mottram plucked it from the air and outdistanced the field to tally.

In the fourth quarter, the Beahawks were apparently touchdown bound and a pass from V. E. Wagner to Richard Kay placed the oval deep in the Sea Flyers' territory. But again the breaks came Ottum-wa's way and a Beahawk fumble on the Ottumwa 10-yard line was pounced on by Norman Belt of the Skyers.
The second Ottumwa touchdown came on a series of line-Bhattering plays, including gains of 19 and nine yards by Bob Reynolds. The climax was a one-yard smash by Francis Lynch.
