Curtis's Botanical Magazine was an illustrated gardening and botanical journal started by William Curtis (1746-1799) in the eighteenth century. Full-page, hand-colored illustrations of ornamental foreign plants, sketched by Sydenham Edwards (1768-1819), were accompanied by a page or two of text describing the plant's properties, history, and growth characteristics. This digital collection includes illustrations and biological classifications for more than two hundred plants.
