During his tenure as an anthropology professor at The University of Iowa, David Plath traveled to Japan in 1965 to conduct fieldwork on four utopian communities: Ittoen, Atarashiki Mura, Shinkyo, and Yamagishi Kai. Included in this digital collection are photographs, illustrations and field notes from his trip.
