Jamaican poet and 1985 IWP resident Anthony McNeill discusses his work and the influence of contemporary jazz on his writing. McNeill reads an excerpt from his manuscript, "The Tess Manderville Letter"; a poem from his book, "Reel From the 'Life Movie' "; and another poem, entitled "Hello Ungod". McNeill also talks about his experiences studying writing at Johns Hopkins University, The University of Massachusetts, and the University of Iowa.
Live From Prairie Lights was a live public radio program broadcast from Prairie Lights, an independent bookstore in Iowa City, Iowa. The program showcased new and established writers from around the world.
