Poet Michael Dennis Browne reads from new and selected work. Born in England he came to the United States. in 1965. He is a graduate of the Iowa Writer's Workshop. He's the author of five collections of poems, which include, Selected Poems 1965-1995, it won the Minnesota Book Award for poetry in 1998. His previous book, You Won’t Remember This, won a Minnesota Book Award in 1993. As a librettist, he has written many texts for music, working principally with composers Stephen Paulus and John Foley S.J. Browne.A new collection of poetry, Things I Can’t Tell You, is scheduled to be published in 2004.
Live From Prairie Lights was a live public radio program broadcast from Prairie Lights, an independent bookstore in Iowa City, Iowa. The program showcased new and established writers from around the world.
