Herald Clinton. Iowa Hospital Wolf Pack Greets Easter Models With Whistle WAC Steals First Prize om Male Contestants in Hat Designing. Amid /wolf calls and inviting whistles' Clinton sorority girls modeled Eaite r finery before an appreciative audience of Schick General hospital patients In the Red Cross auditorium last night. Even the auctioneer was there but he was making his own bid.. The Easter parade opened with a showing of dresses for young women. Show Military Styles Military fashions also were modeled by enlisted men. officers. WACS. army nurses, cadet nurses and Bed Cross workers. Thoy marched briskly across the stage, down the ramp and through the auditorium aisles. Highlight of the parade was mod-fling of Easter bonnets made by i patients at the hospital from a miscellany of materials furnished by Clinton merchants. Business sorority members modeled the chapeaux. WAC Pvt. Shirley Parsons won first prlw with a navy blue felt eye-line hat decorated with a red feather. It was modeled by CynthU Henyan. Pvt. Parsons was awarded S5 by the Bed Cross which offered $20 In prises for the most clever and comical hats. Uses Brim. Feather Cipt. Ernest Rothenberger. who worked only two hours to design a I pillbox hat from a man's hat brim. [two pins and a red feather, took second place and M prize money. His hat was worn by Elizabeth Dickey. Third prize of S3 went to Pvt. Jack Hansen : fourth and 12 to Pfc. Prank Dstekeo; fifth and *1 to Pvt. Ken-, neth Haynes. I Honorable mention and $1 awards were given to Cpl. Louis Vitko, Pfc Iwo Clolettl. Pfc. Michael Ollviere and Pfc. Charles Ruby. Sings Original Tune Vocal music background for the evening's parade was furnished oy Miss Betty Poole. Pfc. David Brown and Sgt. John Hicks. One of Miss Poole's selection was "Do I Miss ¦You?" written by Lt. Donald Breckenrldge and Lt. Harry Pierce, j both patients at Schick. Alter Rwards were announced, the Prophetstown. III., orchestra played for dancing and the models wearing their Easter bonnets toured the wards. Models were evening companions of the patients whose hats they wore. Many of the designers were bed patients so the models spent the evening visit ins with them at their bedside. Those who could get around, attended the parade and' dance, ^ Fr
