Morning Register Des Moines, Iowa Miss Louise CoSKERY, 224 Foster drive, has assisted in the support of five European children since the war began. The f jrst three children whom she helped now have been returned to their parents who are able to provide a home since the war has ended. At present, Miss Coskery is caring for Lizette Van Lingen, 12-year-old Belgian girl, and Paul Mercieca, 11-year-old Maltese boy. Lizette's father was deported to Germany and shot before a firing squad. There is no record of the mother, although it is believed she was deported for slave labor. Miss Coskery's assistance is carried on by Foster Parents1 Plan for War Children to which she donates $180 a year for each child, besides giving money to headquarters for the purchase of special gifts. The plan operates 56 centers for European children who were taken from bombed districts to country centers. During the last nine years, 40,000 children have been helped by the plan.
