An ounce of prevention
They've tried it on most everybody now
It tastes so different when you make it yourself
Better than all the patent medicines in the world
He wanted a "strong peace." Here it is.
Better save a little of that medicine for Chicago
He's had that trick played on him before
It worked wonderfully for the first thirty years
It's all mixed and ready to swallow
Let's do it all over!
Vacation? You want a vacation? Why, young man, look at me. And I never had a vacation in my life. When I was a boy, etc.. etc. "Yes, sir, I know; that's one reason why I think vacations are a good thing"
A prediction based on experience
Now if we could only inoculate the home folks with it!
Isn`t that pretty strong medicine to be selling a young fellow like that without a doctor`s prescription?
The family doctor of former days; the family doctor of today
What's the matter Governor, afraid of the diagnosis?
The head of the house takes a dose of his own medicine
Do you want me to have to call in that other doctor?
Roosevelt: "I think a little tonic will help that tired feeling"
Secretary Chamberlain: "This dose will probably throw him in to fits, but it will cure his biliousness. The next thing will be to find a cure for the fits"
When doctor and patient disagree
Fruits of the New Deal
Dr. Legislature: "There isn't a blamed thing the matter with him, but what's the use of being a family physician if I can't prescribe once in a while?"
The tariff's country cousin
Strange how many folks still fall for the patent-medicine faker instead of going to a doctor
Sure! Buy a bottle! See what it did for Russia
Congress: "I'm feeling a little indisposed and guess I won't work out these problems today". Roosevelt: "That's all right, but boys who are too sick to work will have to take their medicine"
We can take it if we have to
Overworked
It's lovely weather, but - the mild winter has its vicissitudes.
Substituting for the old family Doctor
Spring has arrived. If you don't believe it look at the calendar
Brace up and swallow it, old man. The longer you wait the larger the dose
All braced for the operation. "Go ahead and cut it off, doctor; we don't need an anesthetic"
It may have been your lot to suffer the inconvenience of death from starvation and cold in some Arctic clime-- or perhaps you have been carried, wonded and bleeding, from the field of battle and have imagined your cup of misery was overflowing-- but, say!
In 1896 and 1900. And in 1904.
When Churchill speaks
This is to show those who have not had the grip how it feels.
Uncle Sam: "Will you take your civilization remedies in sugar coated pills and diet, or by hypodermic injection?"
A change of doctors certainly won't hurt her.
Uncle Sam: "Excuse me, but I just can't wait another minute."
Some remarkable cures by Dr. Roosevelt.
The chance of a lifetime.
Bryan to the rescue.
Our two invalids. Some day, maybe, we'll get around to call in some scientific experts on this other case.
A question for the vets. How to amputate the leg and not make the beast go lame.
[No title]
Must be taken internally to be effective [subtitle] That medicine will never remedy anything if it's left corked up in the medicine closet.
